Introducing Chris:
From office life to outdoor craft
Chris grew up in Derby before heading to Manchester for university, where he studied Public Services. His original dream was to become a firefighter — but life had other plans.
After university, Chris travelled the world with his girlfriend (now wife), Lydia, living and working in Australia and the USA. During that time, he took on a wide mix of roles — from recruitment and gym sales to nutrition and client-facing work — picking up valuable business skills along the way. More importantly, he learned the importance of great customer service, clear communication, and treating clients properly.
When Chris returned to the UK and settled back in Derby, one thing became clear: office life wasn’t for him. He gravitated towards hands-on work, learning from builders and landscapers and discovering a real love for being outdoors, working with his hands, and creating something tangible.
He comes from a long line of practical people — bakers, growers, allotment-keepers — and being in nature, crafting something meaningful, and seeing a job take shape from start to finish felt like coming home. That’s what drew him to landscaping.
Today, Chris thrives on working with clients who have a big vision for their garden. He enjoys collaborating with garden designers, understanding the wider picture, and building outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and built properly. A self-confessed perfectionist, he takes real pride in getting the details right.
When he’s not on site, Chris is usually on the school run, taking the kids swimming, or at home playing “horses” in front of the TV — dad of two, muddy boots and all.
Introducing Ross:
Built for the outdoors
Ross grew up in Burton and has lived there his whole life. From day one, his work has been hands-on and outdoors — landscaping, labouring, and learning the trade from the ground up. He’s always preferred moving, building, and getting stuck in over anything desk-based, and the outdoor world suits him down to the ground.
After years of watching how gardens were being built, Ross knew he could do better. He cared deeply about the quality of the work, the finish, and how a space actually feels once it’s done. Meeting Chris gave him the opportunity to turn that belief into something real — and to build gardens to the standard he’d always expected.
Ross takes huge pride in his work. He loves seeing a garden take shape, knowing it’s been built properly, and leaving clients with a space they can genuinely enjoy. For him, there’s nothing better than standing back at the end of a job and seeing the result of hard, honest graft.
Outside of work, Ross is a proud dad to Arlo. Weekends are spent with family, playing on the Switch, or adding to his ever-growing Pokémon card collection.
